The Full Story
It began as a dull ache in a lower back tooth, the kind you ignore for a few days. Deepanshu took painkillers, chewed on the other side and hoped it would pass. Weeks later, the pain was waking him at night.
Friends and relatives had told him a root canal was long and painful, so he kept postponing. Cold drinks became impossible and biting hurt. When his gum began to swell, he decided he could not wait any longer.
I was scared for nothing. The treatment felt easier than the toothache I had been living with.

The doctor listened, tested the tooth and took an X-ray. The decay had reached the nerve, which explained the pain. Nothing was rushed. He was shown the X-ray, told what a root canal really is and given time to ask questions.
The throbbing was gone within a couple of days, apart from mild tenderness that faded quickly. The swelling settled and he could chew on that side again. Today the tooth feels like any other, and he keeps six-monthly check-ups.
