Choose a treatment to jump straight to its guide.
Most patients can return to their normal routine immediately after a filling. If local anaesthesia has been used, wait until the numbness wears off before eating to avoid accidentally biting your cheek or tongue.
Mild sensitivity for a few days can be normal. If the tooth continues to feel painful or the bite feels uncomfortable, please contact the clinic for a review.
Some sensitivity around the treated tooth can occur for a few days. Avoid very hard or sticky foods initially and maintain regular brushing and flossing around the restoration.
Good oral hygiene is important to protect both the restoration and the supporting teeth. If your crown or bridge feels loose, painful or uncomfortable, contact us rather than waiting for it to worsen.
Back to life
Follow the simple steps below and get on with the things you love.
Some soreness, swelling and mild bleeding are expected after an extraction. Rest for the remainder of the day and avoid vigorous rinsing, spitting, smoking or strenuous exercise immediately after the procedure.
Follow the instructions given at the clinic regarding food, medicines and cleaning the area. Eat softer foods initially and gradually return to your normal diet as you feel comfortable.
If you experience persistent heavy bleeding, increasing swelling, severe pain or any other concern, contact the clinic.
Implant treatment involves a healing period, so following the aftercare instructions carefully is important. Mild swelling or discomfort is common during the initial healing period.
Keep the area clean as advised, avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the implant and follow the diet and medication instructions provided after the procedure. The implant must be allowed to heal properly before the final tooth is placed.
Your follow-up appointments will be scheduled according to the stage of your treatment.
Smile on
A few minutes of daily care protects hours of treatment.
Some tenderness when biting can occur for a few days after treatment. Avoid chewing hard foods on the treated tooth until the final restoration, such as a crown where required, has been completed.
Continue brushing and maintaining your oral hygiene normally unless advised otherwise.
Wear your aligners for the recommended number of hours each day and change them according to the schedule provided. Remove them while eating and brush your teeth before putting them back in.
Keep the aligners clean and store them safely whenever they are removed. Regular follow-ups are important to make sure your teeth are moving as planned.
Avoid biting very hard foods directly with newly restored teeth for the initial period as advised. Continue regular brushing and flossing and avoid habits such as biting pens, nails or other hard objects.
Keep cleaning around every restoration, every day.
Go gentle on very hard or sticky foods while you settle in.
No biting pens, nails or other hard objects.
Follow-ups and six-monthly check-ups protect your results.
Mild soreness or sensitivity is a normal part of healing. But please contact the clinic if you notice any of these — we would always rather hear from you early.
